General guidance only — this tool doesn't replace a medical evaluation. When in doubt, call us.
Fever: what to know
For infants under 3 months with any fever, or a fever over 104°F at any age, call us right away. Otherwise, a same-day sick visit is usually the right call if it's lasted more than a day.
Cough & Cold: what to know
Most coughs and colds can be managed at home with fluids and rest. Call us if breathing looks labored, your child is under 3 months, or symptoms last more than 10 days.
Stomach Ache: what to know
Mild stomach aches often resolve on their own. Severe, persistent pain, vomiting blood, or a rigid belly warrant an urgent call to our office.
Rash: what to know
Most rashes are harmless, but a rash with fever, spreading quickly, or with difficulty breathing needs same-day evaluation.
Ear Pain: what to know
Ear pain is often an ear infection. It's rarely an emergency, but a same-day or next-day visit lets us check and treat it properly.
Vomiting & Diarrhea: what to know
Watch for signs of dehydration — dry mouth, no tears, fewer wet diapers. Call us if these appear, or if symptoms last more than 24 hours.
